Jim’s Family
1. Jim, Dorothy, Bob, Jonathon, and Ruth. The photo was taken in front of the church where Bob was pastor. At the time, Bob and his family were living at 404 N Cameron St, Casa Grande, AZ. This photo was perhaps taken during Jim and Ruth’s 1969 cross-country travels.
2. Adolph and Mildred in front of the Dittmar house.
3. Adolph and Mildred.
4. Adolph and Mildred in front of Jean’s house.
5. Bob, Jean, Jim, Adolph, and Mildred. The photo was taken at the family room at Don and Jean’s house. The occasion may have been Adolph and Mildred’s 40th anniversary on May 7, 1967, although Jim would have still lived in MD (and he wore his hair quite short back then). It seems more likely to have been, perhaps, their 45th anniversary on May 7, 1972. Same date as Photo 6.
6. On the same occasion as Photo 5: Don, Jean, Bob, Dorothy, Ruth, and Jim with Adolph and Mildred in the backyard at Jean and Don’s house.
7. Adolph and Mildred in front of Jean’s house.
8. Adolph, Mildred, and Pat (Ruth’s father) in front of an unknown house.

14. Dave, Jim, Steve, Jonathan, and Bob inside the family room (the covered patio behind them) at the Tustin home.
15. Adolph feeds Mildred a piece of their 50th anniversary cake.
16. A family photo at the 50th anniversary celebration. Behind the couch: Bob, Don, Ruth, Dorothy, Tim, and Jim. On the left are Don and Jean’s children: Karen, Jonathan (with Beagle Holly), and Cheryl. (Susan probably took the photo.) In the middle are Mildred and Adolph, with Steve seated on Adolph’s lap. Jean and Ruth are on the right. Jonathan and Dave are seated together on the floor. The photo was taken in the living room with the front window behind.
17. In July 1986, Jim and his family moved from Tustin to Camarillo. This photo was taken inside the rental house at 1897 E Landen St, before the family moved into the house at 91 Camino Castenada. Bob, Dorothy, and their adult son Jonathan visited the family during their brief stay in the rental house. They brought Grandma Neumann along for the visit. Steve was likely the photographer. Adolph had passed two years prior, on July 29, 1984, at Adventist Convalescent Hospital in Glendora. He was interred at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
18. Don, George, Jim, Jean, Mildred, Ruth, Dorothy, Dorothy, and Bob at an unknown restaurant.
19. Celebrating Mildred’s 85th birthday in May 1992 at Jean and Don’s house in Glendora. In the left front are friends from Red Hill Lutheran: Ken and Mary Vogal and Mary’s mother “Nanny.” Behind them are Steve, Dave, Jim, Tim, Ruth, and Mildred. Beside them are Cheryl and her then-husband Mike Olenik (still her last name). Mike is holding daughter Megan and daughter Kristin is with Cheryl. Beside them are Jean and Don. Seated may have been a friend of Mildred’s from the Foothill Nursing Center.

23. Jim, Jean, & Bob at the gathering for Mildred’s celebration of life.
24. George and his wife Dorothy with Jean, Bob, & Jim at Mildred’s celebration of life. George was the youngest child of Adolph’s eldest brother Edward Sr. When Edward’s wife Adelheide died in 1926, George was only 3 years old. Adolph and Mildred had just begun dating at the time, so Mildred helped Pauline (the boy’s grandmother) care for George and his 6-year-old brother “Johnny.” As a result, George maintained an affinity for Mildred as a surrogate mother throughout his lifetime.
25. Family photo during a visit by Bob and Dorothy to the Camarillo house in October 1995. Behind the couch: Jim, Bob, & Don. On couch: Breanne, Dave, Debbie, Amanda (1 month pregnant with Matt), Steve, Dorothy, Tim, and Jean.
