Final Day

After breakfast at the Union Square Tompkins Square Bagels shop, the subway delivered us inside The Oculus at the World Trade Center.

Pointing out Dora Marie Menchaca on the South Tower Pool, a victim of Flight 77 and friend of Elizabeth Brockett (the pool was undergoing maintenance).

After touring the 9/11 Museum, we returned to our hotel for our bags, took the LIRR from Penn Station back to Jamaica Station, and the JFK AirTrain to Terminal 4 for our 8:20 p.m. flight.

Will was picking up his bag from the TSA conveyor belt when he found a dime on the floor. This was Will’s third dime and our fifth for the trip. Amanda and Will each also found quarters from Grandma Nini.

70K steps and 32 miles of walking later, on board Delta 685 bound for San Diego.
